Add Grand Chess not Seirawan Chess

I have to concur with @Lanoc. Any variant considered for lichess should use the same size board, as they wouldn't need to add and program a new one for a single variant, plus it wouldn't fit in well with the uniformity of the site. I am all for Seirawan chess though. Tactical, exchange heavy games are fun for a lot of people to play and watch.
I personally think Seirawan is a brilliant coach and player. That said, I think the hawk and the elephant are unbelievably corny. I wouldn't want to play that variant on here.

As for Grand Chess: I didn't look into it and I know absolutely nothing about it but I doubt it could be worse than Chess: Hawk v Elephant!
>> The reasons why I think Grand Chess should be added instead of Seirawan Chess- 3 superpieces RN, BN, and Q add too much power for an 8x8 board causing an overly tactical, crowded game with too many exchanges taking place
The reason why I played most variants here on Lichess (excluding Racing Kings though, for which I just failed to find opponents fast enough and not get interested) for several days but didn't find them interesting to study deeply is because of their typical tactical-verse nature with much more little meaning of strategy than in normal chess. It is enough to look at the analysis of supposedly high-level games of JahnLee vs TwelveTeen in Crazyhouse Chess Championship to understand what I mean. Typical situation is that the position is the complete win in view of Stockfish but absolutely unclear for the players (they know what to do but have a little idea who is better, because it is too double-edged). Not the rare situation is the change of evaluation from the complete win to complete loss. In classical chess on the top level in 3+0 games this happens way more seldom (okay, maybe in time scrabmles), because the chess is a much more balanced game and you can do good moves without calculating much and without knowledge of a concrete opening line in a lot of typical positions (although the case of complete mess with a lot of calculation involved also occurs, of course).

This is the main factor that makes chess pretty and variants - not. All this stuff with adding new pieces will probably make the game less balanced independently of the size of the board, but I assume that less than all the variants so far. It is hard to estimate how much without the big testing. Seirawan Chess is the way to go as it needs to change less in the code and if it gets popular, Lichess could add Grand Chess as well.
Introducing fairy pieces is nice addition to this site.

Which piece value will Lichess use for new pieces in Seirawan ?
you guys can play seirawanchess already on hellochess.com i would like it to see here too.
from a bit experience i can tell that its hard with the new pieces(for me) i blunder then sometimes in one because im not used to the new pieces.
