Rating Manipulation

Not fair at all!!! I play 2 games, my opponens disconect & my rating when clock reaches 00 does not improve.
@yabbadabbadooooo

"I've found that I gain rating much quicker against opponents who lose on purpose than opponents who do not."

I think you can gain rating even faster just giving the desired one for yourself. Why would you bother yourself to achieve it !?!?!
@AroHar

What do you mean by "giving the desired one for yourself"?

Perhaps you are thinking of the exact same scheme I thought of. Picture this -- I make a new account, where I play rated games using Houdini 6 against the LeelaChess bot. I play several games like this, crushing Leela until I reach, say, 2800 elo. Then, I use that account to challenge my yabbadabbadooooo account to a rated game, and I lose on purpose to myself a few dozen times.

Now, I've boosted myself several hundred elo points, and it shows that I've beaten a 2800 in my Top 5 Best Wins list. Isn't that brilliant?
@catharaxie

I assume @Will_Resign_For_Beer and @WillResignForPizza are the same guy, right?

I must confess, I once did something like this. I made a new account, where I used Pulsar, an atomic chess engine, against Atomic Chess Bot in rated games. Pulsar is about as strong as Atomic Chess Bot, and I was able to get myself up to 2500 elo. After accomplishing that, I started losing rated atomic games on purpose to people. And the thing is, most of them weren't even grateful for it!
You are a troll, mate.

As for me rating is only an indicator to find opponents who I would enjoy the game with. No fun in games when I beat one effortless or I stand no chance.

If you do enjoy having a big number after your name instead of enjoying the game, well, you won't be better player because of it.

@AroHar

I don´t enjoy having a big number instead of enjoying the game. I enjoy having a big number in addition to enjoying the game.

And how do you know that this doesn't make me a better player? I bet that the average guy who cares about his rating is better than the average guy who doesn't. I think a certain amount of competitiveness is helpful for improvement.
