Does anyone else hate how popular chess has gotten recently?

I've been playing chess most of my life, 51 this year, I think what I hate is how many of these new players seem to find it so easy. That's my problem with it getting popular, all these new ?s finding it easy to get an 1800/ 2000 glicko 2 rating outta nowhere xxx but I would like it to get more popular and be on tv and in the news for the right reasons xxx
I hope in my lifetime, 72 this year, that there will be a female who is "World Champion." That would be good for chess. - :]
I play it, because of my son. He like it.

But if some of them develop a lasting interest in the game and stick around, that can only be good for the game of chess as a whole. What would be much much sadder would be if it faded into irrelevance and became like checkers or connect 4 or snakes and ladders in terms of its popularity and participation. I don’t see many snakes and ladders tournaments here in Canada...
In a newspaper interview he was once interviewed, my father said that "chess is charming and fascinating but it is not made known". Making chess known on a mass level can only be of enormous benefit to the players and to the game. Long live chess...
