Check, check, checkmate

So a common chess movie trope is the "check, check, checkmate" sequence, where every move the player slams their piece down and checks their opponent dramatically before the final checkmate is delivered. That led me to thinking, what's the longest sequence of consecutive checks that can be delivered with the final move being a checkmate?
I had a quick play around with this and found some fairly long sequences but I'd be really interested to see what other people can come up with. Bonus points if it's set in a dramatic context!
