Just don't understand internet etiquette these days

CafeMorphy, getting done with a game and immediately leaving the table doesn't break anyone.
I remember in the msn gaming zone there was more talk and most of the time a gg at least, it has definitely become less on chess sites when I play on chess.com probably only about 5% of people in my games say something, I almost never talk either unless they talk first.

What makes people think they are entitled to a rematch?
Poldi, this isn't about a rematch...I am sorry if you got that vibe. It is about just generally saying hi or bye to someone. Not everyone will agree with this - they just play and run, even really good players.

I however always appreciate an opponent who is able to offer some type of banter...it is a way to find friends online.
It might if I give you the hairy eyeball and puff out my chest..
Yes well obviously I was kidding. Actually I'm a big talker during my games, usually ask where they're from etc...
But don't take it personal if nobody talks to you, most people just want their chess fix. I bet some don't even realise they can chat.
I don't think online chess was ever big on etiquette anyways...
I understand that some people may find it impolite not to say anything but really I think most of the time it has nothing to do with being impolite, as I said if someone wants to talk or analyze after the game I am open for it.
