People without any real competence or real experience with something telling others all about that something.
Too many politicians who haven't and couldn't so much as run a lemonade stand, and who think mathematics is just "not their thing, like, you know?" have control of other, much more competent people.
Too many pretty, spoiled, out-of-touch "personalities" have a grand platform to tell us self-righteously all about the world, and have people take them seriously.
Humility and self-awareness are primary virtues, says Noflaps (somewhat ironically).

Addendum: I'm not criticizing all politicians or media personalities. There are several whom I genuinely admire. But those are distinguished, also, by their rarity.

Lazy industrial welders, who do what is fastest/easiest for themselves, disregarding the insulation and cladding that must come afterwards, covering the pipes.

People starting a message and then deleting it...then 1 minute later they start typing something again..all you can see is "x person is typing". At the end you get a short word like "ok".
